Paint transportation in refrigerated vehicles

Paint transportation is governed by an extensive set of rules and regulations. This is because this product category includes several types of materials with different compositions and hazard classifications. Each type of paint requires specific transportation conditions that meet safety requirements. Refrigerated transport is also essential for temperature-sensitive goods - for example, when organizing operations such as confectionery transportation LDGo accepts orders for paint transportation throughout Russia and internationally while maintaining required temperature and speed conditions.

How to Start Working With Us
We don't believe in lengthy discussions and approvals, so our process is extremely simple. First, you submit a request - by calling or filling out the form on our website. At this stage, you need to provide complete information about the cargo (type, volume) so we can accurately calculate time and cost. After processing your request and agreeing on terms, our manager sends you an invoice for bank transfer. Once payment is received, we confirm timelines and provide a suitable capacity vehicle for loading.
Our Service Coverage
LDGo operates in several areas. Primarily, these are St. Petersburg and Moscow, as well as other regions of the country. We are actively developing our international operations. We provide refrigerated transport services to Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other CIS countries. We accept orders for paint transportation to China, Georgia, Iran, Turkey and Mongolia. We also offer European cargo transportation services through transshipment (or re-hitching) at the European border or the border with Belarus. Regardless of the destination, we always comply with regulations and deadlines.
Paint transportation requirements and conditions.
Transport requirements vary depending on the type of paint materials. Water-based paints containing no volatile, flammable, or toxic substances have no strict requirements as they're non-hazardous. Other paint types, however, have specific hazard classifications and therefore require strict transportation compliance.
Regulations for transporting paints and coatings
The main regulations are outlined in ADR (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road), which covers the transportation conditions for hazardous materials. Other regulatory documents addressing this issue include GOST standards, which specify the rules and timelines for transporting and storing paint products, as well as the types and features of labeling for hazardous cargo.
Packaging, packing and loading
Paints are transported in containers, large barrels, as well as medium-sized cans and bottles. Plastic containers must be additionally packed in boxes and film. Each package is labeled with the manufacturer's name, production date, hazard class, batch number, etc. A crucial point: special attention is paid to packaging airtightness. This is because, on one hand, paint deteriorates when exposed to external factors (sunlight, moisture), and on the other hand, broken seals can lead to explosive and fire-hazardous situations, as well as serious environmental damage. Paint containers are not placed directly on the truck floor but are loaded onto wooden pallets. If the container volume is 200 liters or more, loading into the truck is only permitted in a single row—stacking such containers is prohibited. Smaller containers may be stacked. All containers must be secured with straps, ties, and other fastening elements, as impacts, drops, or even strong tilting can lead to spills. Transporting paints alongside other products, especially food items, is strictly prohibited.
Vehicle Requirements
The cargo vehicle must have appropriate load capacity. A valid certificate authorizing paint transportation must be obtained. The driver must also complete required training. All vehicles undergo thorough technical inspections to identify even minor malfunctions that could potentially compromise transportation safety. All paint-transporting vehicles must be equipped with flashing beacons, protective-cased signal lights, and display special placards indicating serial number and hazard class. LDGo transports paints using verified equipment: SITRAK CH7-MAX and VOLVO FH tractors with refrigerated semi-trailers.

Mode of transportation
Temperature: The allowable temperature range is from -40 to +40°C. Freezing may degrade paint quality, while overheating can create explosion risks (excluding water-based paints). The optimal temperature is +27°C, requiring refrigerated transport. Speed: Paint transportation must not exceed 60 km/h. Speed is reduced in low visibility conditions (fog, precipitation), which is factored into delivery timelines. Humidity: Paints degrade when exposed to moisture, so beyond airtight packaging, cargo humidity must not exceed 50-60%.

Documents
Transporting paint requires a complete set of documents including: cargo waybill, consignment note, certificates, transportation contract, dangerous goods transport permit, and ADR certificate.
