Polymer Transport Requirements
As with any refrigerated freight transport, polymer delivery requires advance document preparation:
- Documentation
- CMR Consignment Note: Lists cargo units, route details, vehicle, and driver information.
- Waybill: Issued to the driver before departure (includes route specifics and driver authorization).
- Contract: Outlines terms between the transport company and the client.
- Driver’s Documents (must be available upon request):
✓ Driver’s license
✓ Insurance
✓ Vehicle inspection certificate
✓ Vehicle authorization letter
✓ Medical record book - Transport Conditions
- Protection from: Dirt, dust, moisture, and direct sunlight.
- Damaged packaging will result in rejected loading.
- Temperature control: Max 30°C to prevent material degradation.
- Humidity: Must not exceed 80% in enclosed trailers. - Packaging & Labeling
- Granules/Powders: Packed in polyethylene/paper bags or bulk containers.
- Secure fixation: Special fasteners may be required to stabilize cargo.
- Mandatory labeling:
✓ Product name & code
✓ Manufacturer’s trademark
✓ Production date & batch number
✓ Net weight
Along with the aforementioned documents, the driver is required to present, if requested: a driving license, insurance policy, technical inspection certificate (MOT), a vehicle authorization letter, and a health passbook.
Transport Conditions Polymer
Special attention is given to protecting the material from dirt, dust, moisture, and direct sunlight. If the packaging is damaged, the cargo cannot be loaded into the truck. The optimal transportation temperature for polymers should not exceed 30°C, as periodic overheating may degrade the material’s properties and quality. Depending on the shipment volume, the cargo may be loaded in packaging or transported unpackaged. Granulated material is packed in polyethylene or paper bags, or alternatively shipped in containers. In some cases, specialized fixtures are required to secure the packaging inside the truck. A key requirement concerns labeling: per regulations, bags and other packaging must bear markings indicating the cargo name, product code, trademark, production date, batch number, and volume. While polymer transportation in open-top vehicles is permitted, enclosed trucks with humidity levels maintained below 80% are strongly recommended.
