Transporting bananas is considered one of the most challenging types of food product logistics. This is due to the fruit's ripening specifics and its rapid spoilage if temperature, humidity, or other conditions are compromised. LDGo provides refrigerated banana transportation services, ensuring the produce retains its marketable quality regardless of distance.

We also provide refrigerated transportation services in St. Petersburg and other cities, not only for bananas but also for other products.

Why do you choose LDGo?

We have been transporting vegetables, fruits, and other food products for over 20 years. Our extensive experience and professionalism guarantee perfect cargo preservation during refrigerated shipments.

Masters of their craft

The LDGo team includes drivers and logistics specialists with extensive experience in refrigerated cargo transportation. They are experts in maintaining precise temperature conditions and adept at handling emergencies.

Constant monitoring

Throughout the journey, the driver ensures the maintenance of specified transportation conditions (temperature, humidity) to deliver the cargo in perfect condition.

Preparing for the road

Each vehicle is prepared in advance for loading. The interior of the truck is thoroughly washed and disinfected, and just before cargo loading, it is cooled to the optimal temperature to prevent sharp fluctuations.

We are responsible for everything ourselves

Since the company owns its own fleet equipped with modern vehicles, there is no need to involve intermediaries. We work directly with clients, which allows us to maintain reasonable service costs and enforce strict quality control at every stage.

We focus on the customer

We pay attention to all client requests and always provide detailed information about upcoming or current orders. Cargo transportation is carried out strictly according to the contract, with adherence to deadlines and other agreed terms.

How We Work

Working with each client involves four stages:

  • Request. You submit an application on the website or by phone, providing complete information about the cargo (type, volume, requirements).
  • Processing. The manager, having received the information, will calculate the price and delivery timeframe according to current rates.
  • Payment. After signing the contract, you make a payment via bank transfer. Regular clients are eligible for deferred payment.
  • Execution. After payment is received, we begin work: we provide the transport, handle loading, and deliver it to the destination.

Service Geography of LDGo Company

We operate in various directions, primarily throughout Russia. We handle cargo transportation from CIS countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Belarus. We also service routes to China, Mongolia, Iran, and Turkey. Additionally, we facilitate cargo deliveries from Europe via transshipment at the Belarus-EU border.

Conditions and requirements for the transportation of bananas

Transporting bananas in refrigerated trucks is the only way to ensure optimal conditions and preserve these perishable fruits. However, beyond maintaining these conditions, the process also involves strict packaging, loading, and documentation requirements.

    Sanitary and Hygiene Standards

Sanitary standards for banana transportation primarily focus on confirming their safety, for which a phytosanitary certificate is issued. Since the fruits are sensitive to environmental changes, significant attention is given to packaging.

    1. Bananas are packed in double-layer corrugated cardboard boxes, with a maximum loaded box weight of ~20 kg (the packaging itself weighs ~1.2 kg).
    2. Depending on the fruit's ripeness, additional film wrapping may be used. For 30-day storage, standard film is applied, while specialized films like BanVac (Banana Vacuum) and HighCity (High Humidity City) extend shelf life. These films slow ripening by reducing oxygen exposure.
    3. Transporting bananas with other fruits is prohibited due to their high ethylene emission, which accelerates ripening of nearby produce—with exceptions (citrus fruits, pineapples, watermelons, melons, and some others are permitted).

Another packaging clarification: Boxes and film must be clean, undamaged, and free of foreign odors.

    Documentation for Meat Transportation

The transportation of any goods is preceded by the preparation of documentation confirming the quality and safety of the cargo, as well as the legality of the shipment.

    1. Quality certificates and phytosanitary certificate. The document confirms the product's compliance with current safety standards.
    2. Consignment note. It includes an inventory of all transported goods, as well as details about the vehicle and driver responsible for the shipment.
    3. Waybill. Issued by the logistics manager, it contains information about the vehicle and the driver's completed medical examination, which is mandatory for work authorization.
    4. Service agreement. The contract, signed with the client, outlines the terms of cooperation: delivery deadlines, transportation conditions, etc.

The driver must also have personal documents with them:

    • driver's license of the required category;
    • Vehicle authorization
    • inspection certificate
    • insurance
    • Medical record book

Having a complete set of documents will help avoid unplanned delays en route and unnecessary issues with regulatory authorities.

    Vehicle requirements

Bananas are transported in refrigerated trucks with interiors designed for easy cleaning and disinfection. These procedures are performed before each loading, making speed and efficiency essential. Our fleet includes vehicles of varying capacities to ensure successful banana transportation over any distance. We operate VOLVO FH and SITRAK CH7-MAX trucks with refrigerated semi-trailers, handling loads of up to 22 tons.

    Temperature Regimes

The standard temperature for transporting bananas is +13 to +14°C for unripe fruit and +15 to +18°C for ripening fruit. At temperatures below +12°C, the fruit suffers chilling injury: the peel darkens and the taste deteriorates. Another critical factor is humidity. It must not drop below 85-95%, as drier air causes the fruit to dry out and shrivel. Finally, ventilation quality in the truck cannot be ignored. Since bananas actively emit carbon dioxide, maintaining proper airflow is essential to prevent premature ripening.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we operate in full compliance with the Federal Tax Service (FTS) regulations and pay taxes on time, with VAT already included in the current service price.

Payment deferral is currently available only to regular clients; new customers are required to make full advance payment via bank transfer.
